P.G.R. Quartet

P.G.R. – Projekt Grzegorza Rogali, is a jazz project expressing the idea of combining cultures and musical genres. The concept includes a dialogue between Polish, Jewish and classical music. We can find out about it by listening to 4 CDs. First two albums were recorded with Israeli saxophonist Sagit Zilberman. Recent two albums P.G.R. – „Polish Psalter” take us back to the times of the Renaissance.
The latest edition of the formation is the P.G.R. quartet with the title track „Song for my Mother”, which refers to the recent death of the leader’s mother. However, Grzegorz Rogala does not focus only on personal loss, but also on relationships with loved ones. In addition to the new songs, we will hear „Song for Basia” and „The New Life Appearance”, released on the album Poezjazz (Soliton 2014), there will be the biblical Job, or a piece dedicated to Bronisław Kaper – a Polish composer of film music, meritorious for Hollywood and the history of world jazz. The Leader invited well-known artists on the Polish jazz scene to this personal journey.
